Established by Stephanie Sieber, Brave Edith is created in honour of her grandmother, Edith, who escaped war-torn Burma in 1942. Forced to trek for hundreds of kilometres through rugged terrain to reach the safety of India, courage was her only defence to extreme heat, exhaustion and disease. Designed to bring confidence and positivity with every wear, Brave Edith jewellery is a modern interpretation of some of India and Burma’s most powerful motifs for protection and good fortune.
Our designs are crafted by hand and road tested as prototypes by Stephanie in Melbourne, Australia. In line with our commitment to ethical production, the most wearable and interesting designs are then selected to be made in small batches in her grandmother's former home of India or made to order in her Melbourne studio. All Brave Edith designs are made from sterling silver and gold due to the enduring and recyclable nature of precious metals.
Our partner in India is also committed to the highest industry standards for a positive economic, social and environmental impact including holding certifications from the Responsible Jewellery Council, SCS certification for its use of recycled silver and certification for Fairmined gold obtained from artisanal and small-scale mining organizations.
We invite you to celebrate the beauty of bravery with your own piece of Brave Edith jewellery. Discover more about the stories behind each of our collections here or view our earrings and necklaces.
